 RINA provides certification, technical assistance and engineering services to operators and engineering companies for the purpose of assuring quality, guaranteeing safety, complying with standards and respecting the environment in the sphere of plants, processes and management systems.
After certifying the first fixed offshore platform at the end of the 1960s, RINA, while not sacrificing its certification activities, extended its skills to all types of onshore and offshore plants and developed a vast range of services for the engineering, purchasing and construction stages which allows it to provide valid assistance to design teams and specialist services such as risk analyses, HAZOP, feasibility studies, simulations, assessments and due technical diligence.
Activities are managed centrally by a project manager who is assisted by the engineering team, the construction and start-up team and the international inspection network. All our specialists have extensive experience in the specific sector and this organisation allows RINA to provide effective services all over the world and to consolidate its significant market positions in various countries such as Croatia, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Turkey, Congo, Nigeria, Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran, Kazakhstan, India, Malaysia, Brazil, Argentina, as well as Italy of course.
Ultimately, this sector has incidence on green house gases emissions and resources consumption: the Certification and Services Division offers services that aim to stimulate an economic growth based on energy efficiency and resources conservation, on line with "sensitive mechanisms" contemplated by Kyoto Protocol (ETS, CDM). For the CDM service the Certification and Services Division does not validate/verify any CDM projects in which a Company of the group has carries out specific consultancy.
